Product Advertisement... Lucozade Unit 20

Product History

Lucozade is a soft drink manufactured and marketed by the Japanese company Suntory. Created as "Glucozade" in the UK in 1927 by a Newcastle pharmacist, William Walker Hunter, (trading as W. Owen & Son),it was acquired by the British pharmaceutical company Beecham's in 1938 and sold as Lucozade, an energy drink for the sick. The company's advertising slogan was "Lucozade aids recovery".

A glucose and water solution, the product was sold until 1983 as a carbonated, slightly orange-flavoured drink in a glass bottle wrapped in yellow cellophane. Pharmacists sold it, children were given it when ill, and hospital visitors would regularly arrive with a bottle. It was re-branded in 1978 as a "pick me up", and as a sports drink in 1983, to associate it with health rather than sickness. The company switched to a plastic bottle and introduced a range of flavours. As of 2016, a 500 ml bottle contained 62 g (15.5 cubes) of sugar, more than Coca-Cola. In 2017, to avoid sugar tax, the drink was reformulated to contain 22.5 g of sugar per 500 ml of liquid, as well as artificial sweeteners.

Following on from that,
This Advert from 1979, 'Lucozade aids recovery'. During this Advert, you can hear the singer in the background singing 'The best part of getting better is Lucozade', This is an example of how Audio Visual can be very effective because this Advert has a very catchy tune to it, making it memorable.

This is a Lucozade Advert from 2018, In this Advert it shows Anthony's life story and how over the years of his life, he went through troubles and dark times throughout his career and how his life changed drastically due to Boxing, which has now led him to being sponsored by Lucozade, In this Advert, it gives a powerful message saying 'Nobody ever moved forward standing still', which gives people an insight on what type of feeling you may encounter when consuming their product.

This Video that I have inserted is my Advert, I used the same powerful message from the Anthony Joshua Lucozade advert, 'Nobody ever moved forward standing still',  as this gives a motivational incentive to Lucozade consumers and viewers to become more active and do something which is going to be beneficial to them.

The Target Audience of my Advertisement is teenagers aged 13-19 who don't really know what their purpose in life is yet, as they are still deciding what they want to do later in life, I want my Advert to give the viewers an incentive to get up and put themselves out of their comfort zone. too many people are happy with just being comfortable and staying in their own lanes, people need to become more comfortable with being uncomfortable and this is why I made my advertisement.
