ShockVertising-

  • Weight-watchers Advert, this is one consisting of 2 doors, one small and one large, this would be considered as a shock advert due to many ethical issues which may follow on from this Advert being published. As people may see it as Fat shaming or using Discriminating ideologies to help promote your product.  


  • Cigarette Packets- Many cigarette packets use very graphic imagery, which may be seen as a shock advert due to the level of images they show.
  • Durex- South Africa Advert- this Ad will be seen as a shock advertisement due to the message they are trying to get across, showing that they produce condoms that do provide for people that will need large condoms.

    If there are links to other types of ads then please discuss too - ie the cigarette packs relate to stop smoking campaign - we watched some in lesson.

    Discuss any comedy within the ads too as this is very important as it helps when delivering a certain message. - i.e sex but without being graphic for the durex ad.
